MetaFarms Inc. is dedicated to safeguarding your privacy online. This statement explains the privacy practices for the Dairy Business Daily Web site. Please read the following policy to understand how your personal information will be treated as you use Dairy Business Daily’s features. MetaFarms wants to make your experience online satisfying and safe. Information is collected from you primarily to make it more rewarding for you to use our services. Dairy Business Daily is a Subscriber Web site. We ask everyone who wants access to all features, other than the Home Page, to become a Subscriber.

When you become a Subscriber we ask for information such as your name, e-mail address, and details about what part of the Dairy industry you participate in, i.e., producer, veterinarian, lender, etc., and - for producers - some details about the size of your operation. This information is kept confidential and is not shared with third parties. We will, however, share anonymous summaries of it with our partners, sponsors, and advertisers. What this means is that we will put together general summaries that say things like “30 percent of our Subscribers are Dairy producers. Two-thirds of Dairy Business Daily users are from North America. Dairy Business Daily Subscribers report owning a total of 2 million head.”

So that we can provide personalized services and/or opportunities for prizes, we may at times ask you to again submit information such as your name, e-mail address, or tell us your interests. You never have to answer these questions and you can decline to provide this information on any site at any time. However, if you withhold it, we may not be able to provide you with some personalized services and/or the purchase and shipment of products and prizes.

The ability to provide enhanced services and content to you depends on our ability to offer targeted advertising to our partners and clients. Here’s how you and our advertisers benefit from the information you provide:

  1. It gives us the ability to offer personalized content to our Subscribers.
  2. We can monitor the actions of Subscribers to see what specific parts of the Dairy Business Daily site are accessed.
  3. We provide advertisements that support our customers’ requests for specific information through keyword searches and editorial content. Do a search on “pneumonia” for instance, and you may see a banner advertisement from a pharmaceutical company.
  4. We develop summary - but not individual user - reports for our advertisers. An example might be: “500 people clicked on Advertisement ‘X’ today and of those people, 35 percent had previously indicated they are Dairy producers.” Those who make it possible to use Dairy Business Daily at no cost - our advertisers - need this information to determine the effectiveness of their advertisements. We never tell our advertisers who it was that saw or clicked on these advertisements unless you tell us this is acceptable.
  5. At times, we may alert you through e-mail of special offers and/or promotions made by our advertisers or by Dairy Business Daily through our Buyer & Sellers e-commerce feature. We may also ask you to participate in brief and infrequent surveys to help us keep improving the Dairy Business Daily Website. Of course, you always have the option of not participating, and requesting that we stop sending you any special offers or promotions.

Advertisers on our site may collect information when you click on their advertisement or content. Due to the way the Internet operates, we cannot control this collection of information. You should contact the company directly if you have any questions about how they use the information they collect.
